Leg 3 of the voyage

Approaches aren't what you do. They're how you do it.

When you do something risky, describe what your pirate actually does. The eight Approaches below are the eight ways to interact with life. Each playbook excels at one approach.

Your Approach adds dice based on tier: your playbook's Main Approach gives +1d6. Every other Approach adds no dice until you unlock a Secondary (+1d6) as a Level Up reward. When your action is driven by your Weak Approach, roll with disadvantage. Total pool = Approach + Animalfolk Aspect + Gear + Specialty + Momentum/Help (max 4d6, keep the highest). No fit = no roll.

⚠ Your playbook's Weak Approach

Each playbook is strong in one area and has a blind spot in its opposite. When the fiction is driven by your Weak Approach, roll with disadvantage: drop the highest die. You can still succeed with a big pool, but you're going against your strengths.
