Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Type Tails (the "Service"), a tabletop role-playing companion website operated by Geek Psychology("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Type Tails provides a free web version of the Type Tails tabletop game, plus optional paid unlocks (the "Captain's Pass") that add generators, unlimited character storage, AI portrait tools, and additional world content. Access to the Service requires no account for the free game; saved characters and paid features require sign-in.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials confidential. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have a parent/guardian's permission.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive;
• Send spam, malware, or content that infringes another person's rights;
• Probe, scan, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
• Attempt to bypass paywalls, entitlement checks, rate limits, or other technical measures;
• Use AI features (portraits, quest hooks, world lore) to generate illegal content, harassment, or content that violates a third party's rights.

4. AI-generated content

Some features use AI to generate images and text based on your prompts and selections. You are responsible for your prompts, for reviewing outputs before use, and for having any rights needed for content you submit. AI outputs may be inaccurate or unexpected and are not a substitute for professional advice. We may remove or restrict content and may refuse or filter outputs at our discretion, and we may suspend accounts that repeatedly misuse AI features.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, text, art, and branding are owned by Geek Psychology or its licensors, and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial tabletop play. You retain rights to characters and notes you create; you grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the Service.

6. Payments

Our order process is conducted by Stripe, which processes payments, calculates and collects applicable tax, and issues receipts and refunds for our orders. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never stored by us. Payment and billing mechanics are governed by Stripe's consumer terms. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

7. Service availability

We work to keep the Service running well but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose).

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the Service, create security or fraud risk, or fail to pay for a purchased unlock. You may stop using the Service at any time; you can request account and data deletion by contacting us.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted on this page.
